FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

The most common questions we hear from directors and coaches. Don’t see yours? Just ask.

How far in advance should I book judges? +
The earlier the better. Three to six weeks before your meet is ideal so we can match you with the most experienced judges for each event. We do accept last-minute requests when we have availability, so don’t hesitate to reach out even on short notice.
How is pricing determined? +
Quotes are based on the number of judges, events, rounds, travel required, and whether the meet is on-site or virtual. Every quote is customized. There’s no one-size-fits-all rate. Submit a request and you’ll hear back within 1 to 2 business days.
What areas in Texas do you serve? +
We serve schools across Central and South Texas. Reach out even if your meet is on the edge of our service area. We may still be able to accommodate it.
What’s the difference between a judge and a consultant? +
A judge evaluates performances and issues rankings or scores on meet day. A consultant works with your team ahead of time, running workshops, advising on event planning, and sharing feedback on One Act Play production. Many schools book both.
Do you offer virtual judging? +
Yes. We can provide virtual judging for most academic events. It’s a cost-effective option when travel isn’t feasible. Let us know when you submit your request whether you need on-site or virtual support.
What do you provide vs. what does the host school provide? +
We provide the judges themselves: qualified, prepared, and on time. The host school is responsible for venue space, rooms, schedules, ballots, and any technology needed for virtual judging. We’ll confirm specifics during the quote process.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule? +
Contact us as soon as possible. Cancellation policies and fees, if any, depend on how close to the meet date the change is made. We work with schools to find reasonable solutions whenever we can.
Are your judges UIL compliant? +
Yes. Our judges are experienced with UIL procedures and standards. If your meet has specific judging requirements, mention them in your request and we’ll match you with judges who meet those criteria.
How do consulting workshops work? +
We lead workshops tailored to your team: debate, prose and poetry, journalism, One Act Play, or any event in our catalog. Workshops can be a single session or a series over several weeks. Tell us your goals and we’ll build something that fits.
How do I pay? +
Payment details are confirmed in the quote. We’re flexible and work with the payment processes most schools already use.
